connections
now that i've begun filming and doing some interviews, i've come to notice that i need a bit of known stuff in my documentary as well. i think some movie clips would be especially helpful in making my documentary more interesting and even a bit funny. my first, and only at the moment, idea is to use clips from the movie School of Rock. this would be a perfect movie because it works with the idea that school and rock often compete in the minds of parents, teachers, and students. it is hard to balance both successfully without choosing which is more important to each individual. if anyone else has any ideas of where i can get some good clips let me know!
just for fun:

interview questions
i have now finalized the questions i plan to ask my facebook group, you my interested blog readers, and my interviewees. some are geared towards musicians still in school and some are geared towards those who chose music over college. please feel free to leave comments and answer any/all of the questions. thanks!
- how long have you been involved with playing in a "band"?
- what types of "bands" have you been in and what instruments have you and your group members played?
- how has being in college affected your being a musician (ie: helped, hindered, time constraints, networking, money)?
- did you ever dream or aspire to "make it big" and did that original desire change because of college?
- has your number of available or scheduled "gigs" been affected by being in college? how?
- has your chosen genre and style affected your popularity and chances of "making it big"?
- if you had chosen to not go to college and instead focus on your music, do you think you would have been successful?
- why did you choose to leave college to focus on your music career?
- do you plan to eventually go back and finish college?
- do you believe that both can be done (college and rock)?
- any regrets?
please let anyone know who might be interested in answering these questions and being included in my documentary. thanks!
